Summary

Lower Sherwood is a nationally recognised llama farm, and part of our mission is to provide educational materials to people and businesses regarding the health and welfare of South American Camelids.

These editorial guidelines were established to ensure that all Lower Sherwood articles, videos, and other online content that we publish adheres to reasonable editorial practice, contains accurate and consistent language, and provides information that is actionable for our readers.

Content Creation Process

We are committed to creating comprehensive, and actionable content based on scientific research, expert experience, and the interactions that we have with animals every day. We regularly compile lists of the questions, concerns, and topics that we are most frequently asked, and turn each item on the list into content that enables our readers to educate themselves on definitions and concepts, and make educated and empowered decisions regarding their animals.

Sources and Linking

We cross-check information wherever possible, and contact academic and industry experts when clarification is needed. We aim to cite the most authoritative and appropriate sources when it comes to the content we publish. We will never knowingly mislead with sourcing and strive to cite trusted sources. Links to original source materials will be provided where possible.

Artificial Intelligence

We do use artificial intelligence with images:

  • Software such as upscayl is occasionally used to generate some content in some images, or to enhance older, lower-resolution images to be more suitable for modern web content. Images manipulated in this manner is marked with a [U] in it’s html alttext attribute.
  • Some images may be generated using artificial intelligence algorithms, and these images are also marked with a [U] in their html alttext attribute.
  • Tensorflow is used to identify animals in images.
  • Vision Language Models are used to create alttext for images.

We may use artificial intelligence algorithms to make suggestions to human-generated texts to improve readability and style and to ensure that such texts are free from errors in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and tone. These improvements may include minor word and formatting to the text, but do not include generative editorial work or autonomous content creation. We may also use artificial intelligence algorithms to locate additional information sources.

In all cases, there must be human accountability for the final version for such AI edited material to ensure that the edits reflect the original work.
